Gillette went unbeatin in a big way as the midget hockey team opened their season in Cheyenne on Saturday & Sunday.
The Wyoming league squad-one of the two midget teams fielded by the Gillette Hockey Association this season won all four of it's game,
Gillette jumped out in the first game Saturday morning agaist Casper and won 7-0 after first peroid goals by Cody Carter And Kyle Avery with a assist by Cody Orgaard. In the second peroid, Gillette added four goals, including a a pair of goals by Justin Henshaw and one each from Tyler Morrison & Andrew Morrison. Assists went to Jake Opfer, Asa Jacobs & Cody Carter.
In the third, John Pokallus found the back of the net on a assist from Zach Schmidt.
Later on Saturday, Gillette Blized Cody 7-0-, scoring five unanswered goals in the forst period. Andrew Morrison and Sam Lundquist each has two goals and Nickolai Akovenko, Jake Opfer & Justin Henshaw all scored in the first. Assist went to Cody Orgaard and Kyle Avery.
On Sunday Gillette Powered past Cheyenne 7-0 after opening a four goal lead in the first. Kyle Avery Came away with the first goal with the assist going to Cody Orgaard. Jake Opfer earned the second goal with assist going to Kyle Avery & Andrew Morrison. Cody Orgaard & Zach Schmidt Added goals later in the first peroid with assist from Logan Tomer and Sam Lundquist, Gillette added two more goals in the second when Kyle Avery scored with a assist from Sam Lunquist. Jake Opfer & Cody Carter each added the final goals of the game with a Assist from Pokallus on each one.
Gillette's Final game of the weekend. In the 11-0 win over Casper, Kyle Avery again scoring the first goal, just 49 seconds later Sam Lundquist found the net who also finshed the the game with the last two goals. Also Scoring were Justin Henshaw with two goals, Andrew Morrison, Asa Jacobs & Shelby Coltrane with one goal apiece.
Luke Koloski & Kade Kellebrew played in the net during the four games, not letting a shot past them.
